• Tata has launched its new compact SUV
• Tata Punch takes design inspiration from its elder sibling Tata Harrier and Safari.
• Powering this compact Suv is an 1199 cc 3-cylinder petrol engine.
• Renault Kiger & Nissan Magnite are the competitors of Punch.

Exterior “Front” Design Tata Punch (Official Tata Website)

• Tata has just launched a new compact Punch SUV that looks like a Tata Harrier.
• Just like Tata harrier, Punch also comes with a split led headlight with DRLs.
• Whereas led DRLs are placed above the headlights with Indicators.
• Although indicators are of halogen bulb unit & and DRLs auto turn off when indicators glow.
• One more thing headlights of Tata Punch have auto turn off/on

• Apart from this punch has a front grill of black piano finish that makes it look premium.
• In addition, this piano finish grill has a small opening of a tri-arrow design for the horn.
• Along with its signature humanity line enhancing the front look.
• The front bumper of this car is half body-coloured and half plastic finish.

• Tata did this to keep costs low and scratches will not be visible clearly on the lower portion.
• On the other hand, the lower half portion has a grill of tri arrow design.
• Talking about fog lamps they are mounted on the lower half bumper & feature a cornering function.
• And this car has a high bonnet to give it SUV-like instance.
• Tata Punch also has Rain-sensing wipers that help you in heavy rain.

“Side” Design Tata Punch

• Let’s move on to the side Tata has provided cladding on the lower portion.
• To give it a proper SUV look & trapezoidal wheel arcs are further enhancing the SUV look.
• In my opinion, if you take this car off-road there is a chance to get a scratch on the lower body.

• So scratch on body cladding will not be visible more and easy to clean as well.
• Tata Punch looks wider from the side thanks to its bulky wheel
• However, 16 inches diamond-cut alloy wheels look really stylish.
• The roof of Tata gets dual-tone treatment and tapers toward C-pillar.

• In addition, Tata has added roof rails to look sporty.
• On the other hand Side view mirrors are auto foldable & integrated with led indicators.
• Although side mirrors get the same colour as the roof colour.
• Apart from this A-pillar & C-pillars are black in colour.

• Rear door handles are mounted on the c pillar just like Maruti swift.
• Now talking about the dimensions Length is 3827 mm, Height 1615 mm & Width 1742 mm.

Rear Design Tata punch

• Just like the front bumper rear bumper is also half body finish.
• And parking sensors are mounted on the rear bumper with reflectors.
• Tailgate is designed beautifully and a parking camera is mounted on the tailgate.

• Taking about tail light they are of led & with a tri-arrow design, taillight looks really cool.
• Although taillight is not completely led whereas indicators come with halogen bulbs.
• One interesting design element is the rear light is sweeping through the rear quarter panel.
• And meets the shoulder line of the punch I love this design.

• Apart from this, you will get a rear wash & wipers & high mount stop lamp.
• And Tata has added some beautiful attention to detail on the punch.
• Like when you look closely you will find a rhinoceros is an imprint on the tailgate glass.

• Now the boot is 366 litres in the punch which is lower than Renault Kiger’s 405 Liters.

Interior Design

• When you step inside the car you punch the interior that really impresses you.
• Eye-catching design elements are air-con vents with body-colour
• Apart from this, you will get dual-tone interiors with good-quality plastic panels.

• The thing you will definitely like is its 90 Degrees opening doors.
• So coming in and out of the car is easy for plus-size people.
• Tata punch has a good amount of legroom and headroom.

• But if you are more than 6 feet your head easily touches the roof of the car.
• On the other hand, the Front & rear seats of the punch are of fabric.
• And comes with a tri-arrow pattern design on the seats.

• However rear seats are 60:40 split and can only be flipped, not foldable.
• In addition, the rear seats have centre armrests & the floor of the car is flat my favourite thing.
• Front driver seats are manually height adjustable & steering is flat from the bottom.

• Apart from this steering is tilt adjustable and also has control.
• Talking about the instrument cluster it’s a 7” TFT unit just like Tata Altroz.
• Apart from that or your entertainment Punch comes with 7” infotainment by Harman.

• That features Android auto & Apple car play with 4 speakers and 2 tweeters.

Driving Experience/my opinion

• Tata is using three cylinders 1199cc engine in the punch.
• That produces 86 Ps of power and 113 Nm of torque.
• The punch engine is happy when you drive it in the city with light throttle input.
• But if you drive this car on the highway & overtake other vehicles you have to work with gears.
• So this car is not for high-speed driving it’s for low-speed rides.
• But if you want more power then Renault Kiger could give you more performance.

I like

• Bold Design.
• Features.
• Off-road ability.

I don’t like it.

• Engine performance.
• No diesel engine.
